  1. Ιωσήφ96 welcome to our site!

I think it it will take 10-20 years for Greece to get out of this mess.

Unlike Admin I did not have any high hopes for Syriza, they reminded me of PASOK of the 80s, I just hoped they were right and I was wrong. But I am not so sure if Tsipras planned to lie about what he was going to do, in my opinion he and most of the Syriza politicians are incompetent, unprepared, and do not understand economics and politics. They were mostly opposition experts, and professional protesters. Sadly the one guy that appeared intelligent
Varoufakis, was also too arrogant and had foot in the mouth disease.

But at the same time plenty of blame goes to all current and past creditors that lend Greece money, and forced an austerity only solution.

  2. This forum has gotten too negative, but I understand how things got this way.

For my part, I realize that Greece needs change, specifically Greeks in Greece need to start respecting the laws even the ones they disagree with (paying taxes), they need to stop supporting corruption (businesses that don't pay taxes and break the laws), getting a free meal is fun, but not if it is by cheating... I doled out all kinds of criticisms when all the shit hit the fan in 2009 and 2010 , but we all know what needs to be done now, just hope the Greeks do what they have to.

However, Greek people have some of the best hearts and minds, while I can create a large list of criticisms, I can also appreciate the Greek spirit, culture, food, history, music, philoxenia, philotimo, ...

I still love Greece and Greeks, filing for bankruptcy, and financial mistakes wont do that! Only if they lost their human spirit would change that, an election of GD could send me over the edge, but not a financial disaster.

Ajax what I said about you is correct, your fear and anger makes you see things as black and white, look at my original post I have criticisms in red, and praise in blue, I see the whole picture, you see just the bad about Greece. I am not trying to insult you, I am just stating the facts based on your posts over the past 1-2 years, they are full of insults towards Greece, with little else.

  3. Ajax there is nothing wrong with my reality. Yours needs checking, you tend to see things as black and white, you live in a world of fear and anger. Reality lives between extremes.

Going back to Greece I am very aware of the reality, change is needed, and things are really bad. However I do not want to see the death/destruction of Greece, I am not a believer that a rebirth will necessary bring Greece back stronger and healthier.

  5. Eyo I know this is a big topic for you

"And, finally, we should start a debate about how these people can vote and if they should be represented."

For me I would love for Greece to make it easier for the diaspora to invest there (PRIMARILY, NO CORRUPTION). Voting is not as important to me because, Greek Americans are just as ignorant as Greeks, Americans, Germans, Italians, Japanese...
