This is a small ethnic minority. These villagers live on the top of a mountain and apparently, there is no space to build a school there. The school is at the bottom of the mountain. The kids live in the school and go home 3 times in the school year for holidays. The villagers do not want to move to another area to live, they have always lived there, I assume.

 

Education is extremely valued in China from Confucian times. This is the best proof of it.
