Connery has always been the best Bond until Daniel Craig came around. Not sure if it's his acting, or it could be the story lines that are great, but all the Daniel Greg Bond movies are great and fun to watch.

Eyoismos - in that picture, Sean Connery was 40, 42?

Admin - I agree. The Daniel Craig movies are also, of course, more modern.

Yes, there is more gratuitous violence which I don't like. But modern in the sense of the equipment, the techniques, what he does, etc.

Do you mean violence in other movies too?

So what was Sean's age in that picture already?

in his 30's, best i know

and yes., just about most movies ... and very far from alleged gratuitous

movies are supposed to be about escapism. if i wanted violence, , i would go outside and look at real life

same thing can be said about sex scenes

in the past it was "implied" and so much more sexy. today its legalized porn

(and yes i know porn is legal ... well ... in many places ... but you know what i mean)

I like to watch movies from different countries on youtube. Kind of escapism? Sometimes there are English subtitles. Documentaries are nice too. Old movies are good to watch again too. Actually, I only watch new movies on airplanes.  :D

new planes, new movies

dakotas? ... no movies at all

what? you never flown in a dakota? the ultimate vomit comet of them all?

lose a wing and its still carries on flying

but then again , they designed airplanes those days without modern computers and modern technology

today not so much ...  they burst in flames while still on the runway

:P

He he, I am not that old to fly a Dakota.  :P  Actually, I saw a James Bond movie with Daniel Craig on an airplane. I guess it kind of takes a little away the techno effects because of the tiny screen.

No, the screen on the plane at the back of the seat in front of you.

Well, no dakota, but I once flew a small plane where people sit just in one line. The plane was for about 10 passengers or something like that. I was with someone who was rather big (i.e. fat). He was sitting at the front of the plane. The hostess came to ask him if he could move to sit at the back of the plane, just to balance a bit the plane, otherwise the front of the plane was pointing down.  :D

done that a few times.... get into those teeny weeny aircraft to get to some off-beat, in the middle of nowhere, bushcamp  ...

the slightest "breeze" in the sky ... or the random airpocket (which is a total misnomer, as that pocket doesnt have enough air) and your pants inexplicable experience a serious change of color in a very specific area

I don´t like those movies at all. They have some nice songs like Skyfall but in general the story is ridicolous and the entire setting laughable at best.

If i would have the order to kill james bond i would simply shot him while walking on the street. :D

as opposed to the ridiculous story and settings of Jurassic Park that you so thoroughly enjoyed, right? :P

I think the movies of James Bond are just escapism to pass one two hours, nothing to take seriously. I think there is a movie of Mr. Bean doing some detective work a la James Bond, very funny.

I know. I like his movies, quite entertaining. Funny how he looks and talk differently in interviews in real life.

in real life he is dead pan serious fellow - i mean .... a serious comedian? i contradiction in terms is what i say. but ultimately its somebody who takes his craft quite seriously

i remember in an interview, he described how he would spend hrs in front of the mirror, trying to get those idiotic facial expressions just right

You wonder why he chose to be an actor instead. Mind you, to play real dumb, you need to be a good actor. But his dumb is not dumb, it is rather smart dumb.

I like the one when he was writing an exam and trying to copy his neighbour. Never tire watching it.

the church scene was awful? (no reflection on religion, but rather how boring those idiots that try to make out they are sermon pushers, can be)

my wife wets herself laughing every time she sees that one

i dont know how religious or not you might be, or even if you go to any "place of worship" of any religion that you might follow, but do yourself a favor, next time there, take a few minutes and look around and observe people, ... its actually fascinating in a lot of ways

do the same in parks, or restaurants , or any place of gathering for that matter

its amazing what people say or do or act, when they think they are not being "monitored" .... net result ... from the sublime to the ridiculous
