You are of course right. What can you expect from people who think that 500 mil Europeans have to give money to Tsipras because 10 mil Greeks vote in a referendum that they want it so. And it gets even better: They think that's how democracy works.

Well reality check. Merkel simply is unable to get enough votes for any help for greece. The game is over. We are a democracy too. And the mayority of germans wants to see greece dumped into the sea.

That's right but try explaining that to a Syriza crowd.

Good news, greeks newest beggar letter was denied from the euro group. No new program. They told tsipras to do his referendum.

you guys dont get it, do you

typical example, billions of people all in good faith thought fifa was straight and legitimite, looking after the interests of football

meantime back at the ranch ..... and we all know the rest  ... about the dons .... and those who fed them .... germany via certain companies get away with it scott free and plead innocent ...and of course those very companies ... not a scatch

the "slovenia" equivalents are simply just another pawn

and that is but an example

want another one?

i have great faith that if i go to the horse races , and drop a wad on a rank outsider .... because the returns would be better, the the much safer favorites ... the bookies would pay ... problem is .... the dons behind the scenes .... not much faith in them at all

... its all about who best does the doping, who the jockeys are and who is on the payroll .etc etc etc .... and the dumb schmucks ...the punters ... " the equivalent of the european citizens" ....just pawns ...all of them .... for the ons ar playing games when and if it suites them

not really different with what is going on in europe and the powers that be ... the real powers

i men for fucks sake ... the 3 amigos, IMF and the rest, involved in the so called negotiations with greece (this time) where continously playing random tag and throwing wobblies, like some wrestling match in the WWE ... and we all know how real that is

i suggest you guys get past the goings on , on the surface, and maybe look under the hood

after all .... some know how to use corruption better than others to achieve whatever the target is ..... and get away with it

mean time capital controls implemented is nothing but a joke

and i dont mean ha ha either

ebanking and debit card transactions are going on without any further problems, independant of amounts

basically trading in vaporware

(all of course with the provisor that the said vaporwhare are in the "good" credit column of the respective ballance sheets)

apart from the fact the the banking fraternity , and i mean the whole banking fraternity is doing their damnest for the citizens to be forced to use them as their mattresses to "hide their money under" ... money that doesnt belong to them, the banks that is...and i am talking about the citizens being screwed of their own money  .... and fuck THEIR "good" credit column of their respective ballance sheets with the bank

in cyprus the excuses where many.... but ultimately the target where the ruskies ..... and in the same tsunami.... the coleteral damage of the good honest citizens got devoured - i know of at least a few individuals that spent a whole life time abroad working their asses off and went back home only to lost a buddle ...and now are back here starting again with what little they had left

naturally ... those money laundering countries like lignenstein nd the rest of the off shores .... oh wait ... they are all alive and thriving ...and puting trivial meausres in places ... for the eyes of he world ... still safeguarding the overlords and their fortunes

all in good faith of course

You are full of it and frankly your Kafenio wisdom gets boring. Greece needs Euros from the ECB to keep the Greek banks open and Tsipras needs Euros to pay for all the shit he promised to his voters. Unless the EU is stupid Greece wont get those Euros. Without them Greece can't keep the banks open and keep things running. Ergo Greece will have to leave the EURO.

There is off course the option of cutting expenses and living within our means while utilizing European help to increase the efficiency of Greeces economy within the Euro but that option doesn't seem to Interest the likes of you. It requieres WORK after all.

So yeah, lets talk about corruption at FIFA instead. The EU MUST give Greece money for nothing because .... FIFA is corrupt.

guess the simple fact that the EU nations are fed up with greece is over your head. Greece demands money. That decission has to be made from other nations, mine included. Greece cant hold a referendum over other nations. On a sidenote, syriza is dead as a negotiating partner. No european government will take them serious anymore. They overplayed their cards. Varoufakis was kicked out of the eurogroup. An event unknown in the history of the EU. Tsipras wanted a referendum. Now he can have it. His last proposals wer all dismissed. In athens demonstrated tenthousands pro EU and against tsipras. We wait now and in best case we get a coup. In worst case a grexit. both are valuable outcomes.

I have good friends who own small hotels or rental rooms in Santorini and Milos and they're both confirming that there are lots of cancellations for July. Considering that between July and until mid-August is their high/prime season seems that they'll be in very bad shape at the end of the year. The Syriza government did indeed hurt tourism with their moves, especially at a time when Greece could have scored big time with tourism after all the terrorism issues in North Africa.

Because unlike others most Greek people are always friendly and hospitable. Also, because Greece is the most beautiful summer vacation spot in Europe, bar none. Combine these two and you have the answer to your question.

Gazing out over Thessaloniki’s waterfront, Regina Jost, a social worker from Jever, in northern Germany, was on her last day of a week’s holiday discovering Greece’s picturesque northern beaches. “When I told my friends I was going to Greece on vacation, they said: ‘Oh be careful, something might happen, you’ll come up against bad feeling against Germans, people will hold it against you for being German,’” she said.

But despite the political tension between Athens and Berlin as Greece battles for economic survival, Jost said she had not experienced what some German media have described as “the fear of spit in the ouzo”. After six years of Greek caricatures of Angela Merkel in Nazi uniform, Greek demands for Nazi war reparations and the resentment at Berlin’s stance as unrelenting paymaster, only one person had been slightly frosty towards Jost – and that was a German whom she had asked for directions.

The chaos and devastation you see now in greece happenes for one reason. The first time in the past 5 years, greece stands without the heatshield that the EU and mostly germany pushed over it. What you see now is a country without any protection. I think thats an important lesson for the people of greece. They hated our program. But they face the reality without it now. And this reality is disgusting and humilating.

Well it gets interesting now. Looks like Tsipras and his group of idiots will lose that self proclaimed referendum. That will be the biggest comedy ever. The decission of Merkel to cut off greece from any help after Tsipras called for a referedum was the right thing to do. That way greeks get a taste of what will happen if they vote no. Its basicly a "hell week" and it looks like its working.

Interesting news, we germans get 1.6 billion € now in our cash box. That was unexpected. Its based on interest payments greece payed us for our money. Since the program ended now the payment which was once planned to be send to greece was stopped and send to our own budget. Thanks Hellas

μουνοπανο doesn't translate as "mothefucker", google has it wrong  :) It should translate as a "pussy rag" (the pad women use during their period).

See, you learnt something new today  :D

Nevertheless, eyoismos, please enough with the cursing. Patrick (or anyone else) can have their opinions however offensive may sound to you and I. Let's keep the discussion civilized.

Patrick, I'd also expect you to tone down your offensive against Greece too. This is a sensitive issues and a sensitive time for most Greeks. No need to add fuel to the fire.
