It is a good idea to expand the tourism period in Greece to all year round. Museums and archeological sites could open longer hours then to attract tourists.
In my opinion, much more focus should be made to attract Chinese tourists. They are big spenders abroad, US$2,500 per trip in Europe per person in 2015.
"Chinese Tourists Will Spend $229 Billion Abroad in 2015"
"China’s outbound traveler numbers are still growing and are poised to double by 2020 to 234 million passengers, from more than 100 million last year."
In 2014, there were only 100,000 Chinese tourists in Greece. Unbelievably low! The Chinese have a lot of respect for Greece because of its ancient civilization. Although there are many countries with ancient civilizations, Greece holds a special place because the Chinese consider that Greek civilization is to the West what Chinese civilization is to the East.
