I'm trying to research my family genealogy. Last name is Candopoulos. My father told me that when my grandfather came to the US, the name was changed by immigrations from Kandopoulos or Kondopoulos and instead spelled with a 'C'. I have found basic U.S. census, passport and ship manifest archives, but want to research further and find Greek documentation. Who should I contact to do this work properly?

Kondopoulos or Kontopoulos is a fairly common Greek last name. Not sure about Kandopoulos.
I'd try searching in Facebook first for any Kontopoulos and see if you can find more info about the last name/place of origin from them.
