Hello, I'm not from Greece, but I did live in Cyprus for a year when I was 5 or 6.  Remember all f the old ruins I visited there and loved the fresh bread made daily.  I have been enthralled with the Greek legend and influences in art my whole life.  Just wanted to join to see what this site has to offer.  Also, does this board have a chat room or anything?

I'm new to this site and would appreciate any and all information anyone could send my way. Basically the reason for me joining this site was to try and find people of a similar interest I have. For a long time I have been interested in bringing the story of Kolokotronis and the fight for our independence in 1821. The last few years  there have been a few Greek themed movies with Troy, Alexander and now 300. Now is the time for us to tell the story of Kolokotronis and all who fought to free the Greek people from the ottoman empire. Anyone interested or knows anyone that would be interested please contact me.

Hi Filiki Eteria and welcome.

Unfortunately modern Greek history is not a subject of interest to anyone other than Greeks.

Kolokotronis and some other heroes of the Greek revolution of 1821 are featured here: http://www.hellenism.net/cgi-bin/display_article.html?a=95&s=25

Thats exactly what they thought about Braveheart till it became the success it was, I am sure a script of well written and well casted would spark interest, Especially since the Athens Olympics Greece has seen a  a new revitilazation.. as if new life has been breathed into our old but glorious country.
